App puts HPISD in the palm of your hand
Free app made possible by Briggs Freeman Sotheby's

Highland Park ISD is proud to announce the launch of a free mobile app that will keep parents connected and informed anywhere they go. The app is available for iPhone, iPad and Android devices, and was made possible by a generous contribution from Briggs Freeman Sotheby's International Realty.

With a simple tap, you can access:
  • The latest news announcements from the district
  • A staff directory that includes phone numbers and email addresses, including the option to "favorite" staff members for quick access
  • An activities calendar, which includes the option to sort events by campus
  • A YouTube section, which features videos produced by HPISD
In September, as assignments, grades and other academic information are added, a Skyward section will be launched for the app. This will allow parents the option to view their child's grades, assignments, class schedules and lunch account balances. An announcement will be made when the Skyward feature becomes available.

To download the app, search for "Highland Park ISD" in the Google Play or Apple App Store, or click here on your Apple device. Your device must have iOS 7 or later or Android 4.0 or later to run the app.

"We are so excited to have the opportunity to sponsor this app which will help connect the students and families of HPISD," said Robbie Briggs, President and CEO of Briggs Freeman Sotheby's International Realty. "Having five children of my own, I understand the importance of connection, whether that's people and neighborhoods or families and schools, and this app makes it easy to stay connected to your school community."

The app was built by WillowTree Apps, which has designed apps for numerous businesses and organizations, including Duncanville ISD, McKinney ISD, the NBA, Johnson & Johnson and Harvard Business Publishing.

"The new HPISD mobile app is a great way to access all the school and student information you need to stay in the loop," said HPISD parent Valarie Truelove, who was part of the beta testing team. "It's great to have calendar events, current HP news and teacher information with me wherever I go."

"Our parents and students lead incredibly busy lives, and this app will provide them with valuable information at their fingertips," HPISD Web Services Coordinator David Hicks said.
