"I am very proud of all the kids and the performances that they turned in," Head Coach Dan Holden said. "Even under such adverse conditions, they truly played like champions!"
"It was very impressive to watch our kids and coaches battle weather, travel and quality opponents in winning the 2013 4A team tennis championship," HPISD Athletic Director Johnny Ringo said. "The Scots finished the year with an undefeated record of 22-0 and ran their six-year streak of consecutive dual-match victories to 129. Coach Holden, Coach Jimenez, and players did an awesome job of representing HPISD both on and off the court!"
The Scots have won 11 of the past 12 state championships. They have competed in the state tournament in each of the past 26 years, dating back to the 1988-89 season, and have played in 22 championship matches.
