HPISD students & staff win 32 communications awards

The Highland Park Independent School District received 32 statewide awards for excellence in school communications from the Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA) at its recent annual conference in Corpus Christi.

HPISD won five Best of Category awards, competing against other districts with less than 10,000 students. One of the awards involved student work, a public service announcement entitled "Pay It Forward," produced by HPHS junior Chris Ginsburg. HPHS students also won Gold and Silver Star Awards. The HPISD Communications Department was honored for its YouTube channel and writing, graphic design and video projects.

"The fact that our high school students won top awards in a competition with communications professionals across the state speaks volumes about their work," HPISD Director of Communications Helen Williams said. "We are extremely proud of them!"
