Clearwater Development Corporation Donates Funds to Downtown Eau Claire, Inc.
Downtown Eau Claire, Inc. has received a generous donation of $35,784 from Clearwater Development Corporation for the purpose of establishing a grant program for Downtown Eau Claire. This program is designed for downtown businesses to use toward existing buildings, renovations, and other brick
and mortar type projects. "We are very honored to receive this donation and are excited to create a grant program that will help our downtown businesses. We appreciate the confidence that Clearwater has shown in DECI by awarding these funds to us," says
Ken Van Es, Treasurer of DECI. Upon dissolving Clearwater Development Corporation, the board decided to donate its remaining funds to continue advancing the growth and development of Downtown Eau Claire. A check presentation was held this afternoon at City Hall.

DECI Member Historic Maps Debuts Website
Historic Maps, LLC is now online! The goal of Historic Maps is to research and generate four to five unique maps a year. The plan for the family-run business is to continue traveling and exploring well-known historic places, and eventually add an historic storefront in downtown Eau Claire, WI. The business is owned by Brian and Sue Wagner.
Historic Maps is looking for an artist to help create its latest map. If you are interested, please email Brian.

Students Use Empty Building for Reception
UW-Eau Claire advanced photography students got to show off their work in a downtown building over the weekend. The students used the former Brickhouse Music building at 138 Graham Ave to hold a reception of their photography projects. It's part of an effort to bring the work of local artists into the empty storefronts downtown. Eight students took part in the project called "Redirections".

Hometown Caroling 2012!
Here's your chance to come caroling downtown! The "Chippewa Valley's Hidden Treasures" and "Santa's Tree Farm" will be kicking off their fouth annual Hometown Caroling campaign on Monday, December 17th at 6pm! The caroling will take place in many area communities, including Downtown Eau Claire. Everyone is welcome to join, and if interested should bring a flashlight or lantern, and dress accordingly for the weather. To meet and take part in the event downtown, meet at Wilson Park on South Farwell Street at 6pm! If you have any questions, please call 715-271-6098.
