New City Manager to Light Downtown Christmas Tree
As the sun begins to set on Saturday, December 1st, it will be time to light the Downtown Christmas Tree. The City of Eau Claire's new City Manager, Russel Van Gompel, has accepted the important duty to perform the ceremonial pushing of the button that will light the tree for the holiday season! By the time of the lighting, Van Gompel will have had three weeks of work under his belt in Eau Claire. The tree lighting will take place at approximately 4:30 p.m., after a performance by the Eau Claire Memorial Madrigal Singers. The tree is located in a little different location than previous years. Find it in the parking lot across from the Children's Museum of Eau Claire on S. Barstow Street.
