Who's Ready For Downtown Eau Claire
 Trick-or-Treating?
 
 
 
 
Businesses that would like to participate in handing out treats will have a sign posted that says Trick-or-Treeat Here! We expect more than 2,000 ghouls and goblins to Trick-or-Treat Downtown!
 
 

  

This week is the 13th Annual Chippewa Valley Book Festival. Among the writers on this year's roster are Wisconsin Public Radio host Jean Feraca, New York Times best-selling author MaryJanice Davidson, Eau Claire's Poet Laureate Bruce Taylor, and novelist, filmmaker, and actor Ayad Ahktar.

 

There will be many events taking place including: author readings at area libraries, school visits and presentations, the annual Disabilities Forum, and the winners of the Chippewa Valley Young Writers contest will be presented.

Annual Halloween Festivities at the Library

 

This October, the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library in Eau Claire is holding a Pumpkin Painting Contest in addition to a traditional Halloween Storytime.

 

Children and teens through age 15 are invited to bring a pumpkin they have painted to Youth Services Monday, October 15, through Sunday, October 21.  People can also drop in and decorate a pumpkin: Monday, October 15, from 1 through 3 p.m. and Saturday, October 20, as part of Family Storytime beginning at 10:15 a.m.  

 

 Stories, songs, and fun activities begin at 10:15 a.m. on Halloween, Wednesday, October 31, in the Eau Claire Room.  A costume parade and trick-or-treating through the library will follow. Refreshments will be served.
