JAMF Software Expands Downtown
There's a fairly new storefront on Graham Avenue, on the building that once housed the "Book Peddler," and before that JC Penney. Inside, workers intently sit at computers, meeting rooms, and lounge furniture to talk tech-Apple technology. The nearly 70 workers in Eau Claire are part of JAMF Software, a company that leaders predict, will have top-line revenue topping $20 million this year. JAMF makes software for managing Apple computers and devices.
While JAMF is headquartered in Minneapolis, one of its founders is originally from Eau Claire and remains in the Eau Claire office. Office Administrator Rebecca Wurzer, says JAMF was founded in 2002, and has recently expanded their space above the Redeeming Grace Church on Barstow Street, to now include and connect to the space at 315 Graham Avenue.
To read more about JAMF and its Eau Claire founders, read an article from the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal.

Library Celebrates New Statue
The L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library
is inviting area residents to celebrate the installation of its new outdoor sculpture, "Circle of Friends."
An open house will be held on Thursday, August 9, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Youth Services Program Room. Welcoming remarks will be made from 2 to 2:15 p.m., followed by socializing, light refreshments, and opportunities to have photos taken with the sculpture.
The sculpture, which depicts a barefoot girl engrossed in a book nestled in a bronze cylinder, was recently installed earlier this month on the corner of Eau Claire and Dewey streets, within a small reading garden.
Created by Littleton, Colorado sculptor Karen Crain, it was one of 27 sculptures on display throughout downtown in 2011-12 as part of Sculpture Tour Eau Claire. Acquisition of the sculpture by the library was made possible through the efforts of library board member Susan Bruce, who raised generous donations from individuals in the community to keep the sculpture in Eau Claire to inspire young readers.
