 Jersey. This increasingly trendy Channel island shows off some of its best produce under the banner of Genuine Jersey. Following a very successful 'Taste of Jersey' menu at Cafe Spice Namaste last winter, we now present our 'Summer Taste of Jersey Menu', a special offering for the entire month of July!

Starters 
 
Grilled scallop on spiced crab cake with mustard cream sauce
 
Salad of rock lobster currimbhoy
Steamed lobster sliced and served on a bed of Jersey Cos Lettuce tossed in organic home-made mayonnaise infused with fresh garlic & green chilli & fresh coriander with sliced boiled egg and croutons from Emma's Bread on the island 
Jersey royals tuk-tuk 
Jersey Royals steamed and flattened, flash fried and topped with spiced yoghurt & tamarind sauce on a bed of Oakley tomatoes with Savoy salad 
Ratatouille a'la India with black butter sauce
Jersey courgettes, mixed peppers and spring onions simmered in a typical tomato gravy made with Jersey plum tomatoes, served drizzled with spiced Black Butter sauce and crispy chappati strips

Arroz refogado frutta di mare com molho de coco
One of Goa's most popular rice dishes, this is Goan seafood pulao with scallop, crab meat & lobster but also including fillet of bream & the only non-Jersey produce on the menu, prawns. This must be Portuguese influenced!  
Sea bream peri-peri
Sea bream marinated in typical Goan style peri-peri masala, skewered & chargrilled, served with a vegetable of the day & salad. Not for the feint hearted!  
Kheema hawa mahal 
Jersey beef mince cooked in the Nawabi style of Hyderabad, flavoured with whole spices, topped with chopped spinach tossed with garlic & cumin, covered with beaten egg & served with your choice of either naan or pulao rice 
Jersey vegetable foogath 
The combination in this will vary based on what is delivered to us, however, in season now are cauliflower, Savoy cabbage, flay beans, aubergines, spring greens, courgettes & potatoes! All tossed with sliced onion, garlic & cumin & freshly grated coconut 
 
Pudding  
 
Emma Carlton's Sticky Toffee Pudding
 
According to Alasdair Crosby from Jersey Life, Amma Carlton's Sticky Toffee Pudding is one of the best in the UK. Served with fresh cream
