Greetings!

As many of you will be aware I have been conducting a few Master Classes at Café Spice Namaste primarily with mutton and specialised private classes for some of our larger companies & helping to raise vital funds for Springboard UK our industry's charity tasked with promoting our industry to young people and those looking for a change of profession.

cyrus_at_adventure_gourmetHowever I am also involved as many of you are in the other various bodies which help make our industry the greatest one to work in and the best for a secure career progression route for anyone. This has prompted me to look at doing something for my other involvements and at the same time sharing some of our skills and knowledge with like minded people in the industry at large and, fulfil that which has been my wish for a long time, which is spreading the good word about Asian Cuisine and to showcase its heritage, intricacy and yet simplicity & its huge adaptability to present day British Culture and Cuisine, as well the huge plethora of fine British Produce available today and the farmers and producers we all need to support & cherish.

Therefore I had asked Sam Coulstock from Springboard to ask for feedback after my classes and to ask what, people would want me to ideally do in the classes to help broaden their knowledge and the feedback has been very positive indeed. With this in mind we have set out a programme of events for the forthcoming year which no doubt includes classes by some of my better known and wiser colleagues in the industry, but a series of classes by me which widens the breadth of elements within the cuisine of South Asia.

My plan is to, as has been the case in the past, to donate an element of your cost (my classes only) towards each of the following bodies in turn. These are Springboard UK, The Academy of Culinary Arts, The Master Chefs of Great Britain, The Craft Guild of Chefs & Hospitality Action and, my own two charities Learning for Life (giving the gift of education to very poor kids in India, Pakistan & Afghanistan) & The Time & Talents Association of which I am the President, (giving hope to the elderly, under-privileged and sick people of South East London primarily in the Rotherhithe Basin).

This way not only do we share our knowledge and skills with chefs, foodies, managers etc and increase their own knowledge, but at the same time help our associations in doing the stellar jobs they do in promoting our industry to youngsters and raising the profile as well as collecting money for those amongst us who may fall on troubled times.

This letter will be going out via all of the organisations listed above and I am hopeful that you will all see the benefits of what we are hoping to achieve and, plan on which of the classes you or your colleagues may wish to come to and support and help both yourselves and our industry.

Sam Coulstock, Dee Evans and Pervin my wife will co-ordinate all the bookings and all their e mail contacts are below. You will be asked to pay in advance if only to simplify our work and also continue do our own jobs. If however after paying a delegate cannot attend we will honour the payment for another class in the future.

Thank you all and this has been long enough as it is. Have fun all and I look forward to seeing many of you at Café Spice Namaste

Yours sincerely
