I was on the phone last week with a business owner (let's call her Jen), who I admire very much. We were exploring ways to work together as we seemed to have great synergy. I was telling her about The Women's Success Summit's past themes... Risky Business, The Big Close, Work & Play, Every Day... and proudly exclaimed: "And this next one is... 'Shameless Self-Promotion!'"

Silence. A few heartbeats later, she finally filled the dead air: "You know, I'm really a lot more about 'humility' than 'shameless.'" I felt like a bad child being scolded; I was embarrassed. But then I remembered that it's exactly this sentiment - particularly among women - that we're out to transform.

Jen's not alone. The fact is, "ShameLESS" is considered a bad thing - a synonym of "ShameFUL." But I mean it literally - as in "without shame" - AKA: being bold, audacious, "owning" our achievements and being proud of our accomplishments.

Whatever you call it, the fact remains that knowing how to strategically and artfully promote yourself is, without question, one of the MOST crucial skills for success. If what you do depends even minimally on who you are (and it always does), then being "known" is essential for driving leads, promotions, job opportunities, media, and the bottom line

That's why I am SHAMELESSLY, UNAPOLOGETICALLY and PROUDLY proclaiming SHAMELESS SELF-PROMOTION as the theme of our 7th (!!) Women's Success Summit, May 21 & 22, 2013 at 404 NW 26th Street (next to The LAB Miami, in Wynwood, near Midtown).

Details available at www.WomensSuccessSummit.com.

If you're interested in getting involved through sponsorship, exhibit tables or individual onsite promotional opportunities, respond to this email or call (888) 531-3830.

Final note: thanks to our new partner The LAB Miami for securing the space for us, which is probably our coolest venue ever!

And away we go...
