The Landmark Resort

The Landmark Resort--Door County's largest resort which celebrated its 25th anniversary a few years ago--has continually grown over the years.  Located at 7643 Hillside Rd., Egg Harbor, the Landmark Resort was established in July 1985 with one building called the Flagship offering guests 81 accommodations.

Here's a look at some of the Landmark Resort's offerings today:

Abundant suites

Today, the Landmark Resort offers 294 suites for travelers. They range in size from one to three bedrooms.  Many rooms afford spectacular westerly views of Green Bay waters.  Other accommodations look out over the woods. They are housed in four buildings on 42 wooded bluff-top acres and supported by vast outdoor and indoor amenities.  The Landmark Resort is open year-round.

Other amenities

The Landmark is a destination for weddings, meetings and conferences. Its Egg Harbor meeting room seats about 230 people and has a peaceful water view.  The resort also has pools, outdoor walking trails, tennis courts and a recreation center. The Carrington Pub & Grill, open for casual dining year-round, was recently outfitted with an expansive outdoor deck.

New at the Landmark Resort

The Landmark Resort recently earned Travel Green certification, a Wisconsin environment initiative.  The resort has been upgrading all air conditioning units this year.  A $3 million resort renovation that began in 2006 updated and enhanced all buildings and nearly every space:  reception and lobby areas as well as most guest suites, pools, meeting rooms and public rest rooms. Also, exterior improvements-roofing, landscaping, parking lots and walkways--were done.

Upcoming events

The Landmark Resort's Thanksgiving Day buffet is a feast to behold.  The generous offerings include turkey as well as other main dish options, soups, vegetables, salads and an expansive dessert table.

Also, the Carrington Pub & Grill has just announced a Comedy Club.

The next Comedy Club performance is Thursday, Dec. 12, when the Carrington will present Kenny Smith and Adrian Cosby. According to the resort, "Smith is the funniest guy you've never heard of. With several appearances on the Bob and Tom radio show and television spots on E! and Comedy Central, Kenny's audience is growing quickly. He is touring from coast to coast at A-List comedy clubs and theatres. Kenny has crossover appeal with urban and Latin crowds as well as the blue collar audiences. "

And Cosby, according to the Landmark Resort "uses his multi-ethnic background and intellectual wit to make audiences from all walks of life laugh at him as well as themselves. Smart, smooth and surprising Adrian's unique look and style make him the perfect complement for many diverse acts."

Other upcoming events include karaoke on Saturdays, Breakfast with Santa Nov. 29 and a New Year's Eve Bash Dec. 31.
