Door County Interiors & Design
By Donna Marie Pocius
Special to DoorCountyNavigator.com
As autumn approaches, you may be thinking about projects to improve your home or your vacation condo or house. If you need an idea or a way to get started, visit Door County Interiors & Design, 7266 Hwy. 42, about two miles south of downtown Egg Harbor.
This is a mega (10,000 square feet) furnishings store and design center. You can wander around and see furniture and accessories set up in vignettes or room schemes that depict a range of interior design styles: coastal, modern, transitional and many more looks. Available here (or made to order) are sofas, chairs, dining sets, bedroom sets, coffee tables, end tables, media stands and more for all areas of your home manufactured by quality brands/designers.
For people looking to update or renovate their residences, Door County Interiors & Design has a design center with vast samples of fabrics, window coverings, wood flooring, tile and countertops. This business is staffed by people who are knowledgeable of design, materials and furniture makers.
We recently caught up Carol Trimberger, who has co-owned Door County Interiors & Design with her husband, Ron, since 2003.
Q. What's unique about Door County Interiors & Design?
Carol: At Door County Interiors & Design, it's all about the LOOK, YOUR LOOK, YOUR FEEL.
We help you create your look, your feel for your well-loved home.
Q. What's new in home interiors?
Carol: The emphasis is on comfort and ease-of-living. Ease-of-living fabrics that are pet-friendly, cheery and fun are popular. Comfort means furniture that is easy to live with and helps us to enjoy each moment.
At the top of many people's lists is the power recliner. Just push a button. The back and legs move into your position. Also, tabletops in metal or stone that age beautifully are on the top of the list, too.
Q. Are there any upcoming events or offers at the store?
Carol: We are running television ads about our 40% off Smith Brothers-brand upholstery. You can save $1,000 on a sofa, $700 on a chair. Accessories and area rugs are 15% off. Hunter Douglas and Graber blinds are up to 25% off. And we offer free design service.
Be sure to engage with your sales personnel. They have product knowledge and are always willing to assist.
Q. You have lived in Door County for quite a while. What do you recommend people do?
Carol: Of course, shop till you drop. Then, slowly enjoy the beauty of nature: the trees, water, sky and sunsets.
