To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation Awards $238,125 to 14 Bay Area Organizations

The Foundation's Grants Review Committee, made up of community health and medical leaders, breast cancer survivors and Foundation directors, has awarded $238,125 to 14 Bay Area nonprofit organizations. On April 1 checks were presented by Board Grants Chair, Jane Pallas, together with major Foundation donors. Attending the uplifting and inspirational reception were donors, event sponsors and the very important volunteers who worked during 2012 to raise funding for this evening. These awards bring the total granted since the organization's inception in 1996 to over $3.75 million.

Meet our NEW Board President and Members

To Celebrate Life is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeanne Capurro as the new President of the Board of Directors, and Rebecca Spencer and Gerard Bourguignon as new Board Members.

New Year, NEW Website

To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation website has a new look and a more user-friendly format!

We invite you to visit the site often to find the latest Foundation information. You can also secure reservations for our events and make donations online.

The new website follows the updating of our logo, branding and mission statement, all accomplished in 2012.

A special thank you to web designer, Lillie Dignan (The Bright Studio), Lanny Udell (CopyWhiz) and the Communications Committee for their efforts in bringing this final phase of our new look to fruition.

Volunteers Said YES! at Annual Kickoff
In January, Acqua Hotel in Mill Valley said YES to hosting our Volunteer Kickoff event. Volunteer Kathy Lemke and board member Yvonne Robinson planned a fun evening highlighting our exciting events for 2013. We can always use more volunteer energy to fulfill our mission, so if you would like to make a difference, and have a great time in the process, we welcome you to JOIN OUR VOLUNTEER FAMILY or call 415-455-5882.

Face of the Foundation - Bridget Moore

Bridget Moore Bridget first volunteered with To Celebrate Life in 2011. A professional graphic designer (Bridget Moore Design), she donated her talents to help us create the invitation, program and signage for Stepping Out. Bridget also worked with the Foundation's Communications Committee to develop a brochure and individual inserts highlighting our three events.

Why does she volunteer? "In these difficult economic times, combined with the challenges women and men go through with breast cancer, I learned how valuable To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation is," says Bridget. "I wanted to put my graphic design skills to work to help others and work with people from different backgrounds." This year Bridget looks forward to volunteering her services for Tee It Up and Stepping Out. We're so grateful for her dedication and wonderful work on behalf of To Celebrate Life.

Man to Man helps men whose partners have breast cancer

Woody Weingarten's wife has been clear of breast
Man to Man cancer for some 17 years. But that hasn't stopped the San Anselmo reseident from heading to Denny's in Corte Madera every Wednesday morning to be present and available for men whose partners are dealing with challenges he knows all too well.

"Men play the macho game all the time. They think they can fix everything. Breast cancer is not something they can fix, and the emotional impact both on the partner and the male is also something that's not fixable", says Weingarten of the need for Man to Man, a drop-in men's support group now it its 20th year.

Make A Lasting Gift
Help ensure that future patients struggling with breast cancer receive the help they need.

Join our Celebration Circle and help fulfill our vision that no one faces breast cancer alone...now, and in the future.
