Face of the Foundation - Bridget Moore
|
Bridget first volunteered with To Celebrate Life in 2011. A professional graphic designer (Bridget Moore Design), she donated her talents to help us create the invitation, program and signage for Stepping Out. Bridget also worked with the Foundation's Communications Committee to develop a brochure and individual inserts highlighting our three events. Why does she volunteer? "In these difficult economic times, combined with the challenges women and men go through with breast cancer, I learned how valuable To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation is," says Bridget. "I wanted to put my graphic design skills to work to help others and work with people from different backgrounds." This year Bridget looks forward to volunteering her services for Tee It Up and Stepping Out. We're so grateful for her dedication and wonderful work on behalf of To Celebrate Life.

Man to Man helps men whose partners have breast cancer
Woody Weingarten's wife has been clear of breast cancer for some 17 years. But that hasn't stopped the San Anselmo reseident from heading to Denny's in Corte Madera every Wednesday morning to be present and available for men whose partners are dealing with challenges he knows all too well.
"Men play the macho game all the time. They think they can fix everything. Breast cancer is not something they can fix, and the emotional impact both on the partner and the male is also something that's not fixable", says Weingarten of the need for Man to Man, a drop-in men's support group now it its 20th year.
