Jeannette Walls
Vicky and Elizabeth with Jeannette Walls at Winter Institute 2013

I love March.  March on Cape Cod is definitely not our best month weather-wise, but spring is around the corner and there's finally time to reflect and plan for the coming year.

To help us in our planning this year, we did two things. First, we sent out a survey last month and were both thrilled and grateful for the thoughtful comments and suggestions from over 400 of you! We learned that the #1 reason you shop here is our staff - and I couldn't agree with you more! We are fortunate to have a wonderful group of passionate, hardworking, knowledgeable and dedicated booklovers who work at Titcomb's. The #2 reason (and not far behind) was the desire to shop locally. We have been talking with other businesses in Sandwich and most reported a busy holiday season because of customers who care about our Sandwich businesses and choose to shop locally when possible.

We also attended an amazing conference of booksellers and publishers called Winter Institute. Elizabeth Merritt and I headed off for Kansas City last week for three days of educational sessions and meetings with publishers and authors, including Jeannette Walls, Malcolm Gladwell and Dave Eggers.  We came back with many great ideas and new books we'll be sharing with you in the coming months.  We invite you to learn more about our trip at our blog

So, we look forward to 2013! If you have any ideas or suggestions of books we should carry, events we could plan or feedback on how we're doing, please don't hesitate to talk with us - or send us an email (titcombsbookshop@gmail.com).

We love to hear from you!
