An Address to Assist

While it may seem like a small thing, having your address visible from both the street and alley is extremely important.  This is mainly so that emergency response vehicles can find your location as quickly as possible.  d.  While our employees are very knowledgeable of our community, every second counts in a time of need.  Take a look, especially at night, to see if your home's address can be easily identified.

A Day in the Life Of

Are you curious about what police officers and firefighters do on a daily basis? You can always schedule a ride-along or a tour of the operational facilities! Tours are perfect for a close look at the day to day operations
of public safety and a perfect way to see how each person doing their job can protect an entire city! Ride-alongs are a great way to get a first hand experience in being a police officer or a firefighter. Fore more information feel free to call the Police Department at (559) 897-4418 or the Fire Department at (559) 897-5457.
Water Wells

Did you know the City operates seven municipal water wells, averaging 675 feet in depth? With over 3,350 total connections, the system is monitored by the City's Water Department, which is responsible for testing and ensuring the system remains safe and reliable.  Kingsburg's system relies entirely on groundwater, as underwater aquifers make above ground storage uneccessary.  In addition, the City doesn't add any chemical treatment to the groundwater before delivering it to each connection.  With approximately 500 fire hydrants with an average pressure of 50 PSI, the City's looped system provides consistent, safe water to both residents and businesses year round.
Google It

The City of Kingsburg has partnered with Google in order to get more local businesses on the web. This program has already helped 182 (17 more than when the partnership launched) businesses in Kingsburg become more recognized and up to date.

4 out of 5 people use search engines to find local info like business hours and directions.  Get on the map today to make sure you get noticed.

This Week in History

On July 25, 19778, Louise Joy Brown became the first baby to be born... that was conceived via in vitro fertilization (IVF). Children born through this process are often referred to as "test tube babies". Throughout her life, Lesley Brown, Louise's mother, had suffered through infertility and in November 1977 she underwent the experimental IVF procedure. A mature egg was removed from Lesley, which was then fertilized in a laboratory. The embryo was then implanted into Lesley's uterus, and to the awe of herself, the doctors involved, and the media, the pregnancy stuck. And so, like a usual pregnancy, nine months later a healthy five pound, 12 ounce Louise Joy Brown was born.
