Limit the Flow
The California drought continues, and has effected the Central Valley greatly. Everyone needs to do their part to conserve. With warm weather heading our way - a few reminders about outdoor irrigation:
- EVEN numbered addresses can water on: Wednesday & Sunday
- ODD numbered addresses can water on: Tuesday & Saturday
- No watering on Mondays, Thursdays or Fridays
- No watering between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 P.M.
- No water to flow beyond your property line
If you notice illegal irrigation practices, report it. The State of California recently extended the conservation mandate until October 2016. As such, the City will continue to efforts to curb outdoor irrigation, which is the largest single contributor to water usage.

Dispatching
Preparations for transitioning 911 law enforcement dispatching are nearly complete. The Fresno County Sheriff's office will be fielding both emergency and non-emergency calls beginning Saturday, March 19. For residents, the change will have little to no impact on regular reporting. Residents will continue to contact 911 for emergencies and 897-2931 for non-e
mergency calls for service. Kingsburg Police officers will still respond. For administrative inquires, residents are asked to call 897-4418. While lobby hours will be changing soon, a 'ring down' line has already been installed at the entrance of the KPD lobby. This area is well lit, monitored by camera and is ADA accessible. The line connects directly to FSO should a person need assistance when the lobby is closed. |
This week in History
On this day in 461 A.D., Saint Patrick, Christian missionary, bishop and apostle of Ireland, dies at Saul, Downpatrick, Ireland. Much of what is known about Patrick's legendary life comes from the Confessio, a book he wrote during his last years. Born in Great Britain, probably in Scotland, to a well-to-do Christian family of Roman citizenship, Patrick was captured and enslaved at age 16 by Irish marauders. For the next six years, he worked as a herder in Ireland, turning to a deepening religious faith for comfort. For thousands of years, the Irish have observed the day of Saint Patrick's death as a religious holiday, attending church in the morning and celebrating with food and drink in the afternoon. Today, March 17 is a day of international celebration, as millions of people around the globe put on their best green clothing to drink beer, watch parades and toast the luck of the Irish.
