KPD Lobby Hours

Kingsburg law enforcement dispatching operations will be transitioning to Fresno County Sheriff's Office  (FSO) on Saturday, March 19. Residents will still dial 911 for emergencies and 897-2931 for non-emergency police calls for service.  The only change will be the addition of a new administration number - 897-4418 for KPD non-police officer services.

New lobby hours will also be implemented after the transition (these hours will be monitored and are subject to change to best serve residents).
  • Monday - Friday; 12 noon - 7pm;
  • First Saturday of the month; 9am - 4pm
In addition, many of the common administrative forms can be found online and more will be added as necessary.  Residents are encouraged to read the FAQ regarding dispatching operations and the process for making the final decision.  We encourage anyone with further questions to contact Police Chief Neil Dadian.
Check Your Day

For February, Kingsburg residents reduced consumption 32% - only the second month since June that the community has not met the 36% mandate.  However, Council has waived the $75 penalty fee given the great effort the community has shown to reduce usage from June - February - with a 39% overall reduction.

Residents are reminded that outdoor water regulations remain in effect, including:
  • Odd numbered addresses -  Water on Tuesdays and Saturdays
  • Even numbered - Water on Wednesdays and Sundays.
  • No watering on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
  • No watering between the hours of 6 am and 8 pm.
The State has extended water conservation requirements through October 2016 . Please do your part to conserve water!

Coffee and a Chat

Interested in meeting the City Manager or just want to talk about Kingsburg? Come down to City Hall on Friday, March 11 at 9 am and talk about it over a cup of coffee.

This program is the latest in the City's efforts to provide substantive and accurate information to its residents. Residents will be able to ask questions about any topic and will also be briefed on current projects in the City.  This is a more proactive approach in the dissemination of information by talking to residents and business owners on a more personal level.
Council Wrap

During their regularly scheduled meeting on March 2, Council discussed the following items:
  • Expenditure allocation approval for the Community Services Commission:  The Council approved a funding request for a pop-up skate park during Swedish Festival, a permanent shade structure for the Off-Leash Dog Park, and painting of the Memorial Park Band Shell.
  • Kingsburg Water conservation update and information related to the State's extended mandate.
  • Kingsburg Police Department Lobby hours. Council discussed appropriate lobby hours after the transition of dispatch is complete.  The discussion included making sure customer service remains a top priority for administrative services.

The next City Council meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 16 @6pm.

This week in History

On March 2, 1904, a man named Theodor Geisel was born in Springfield Massachusetts. Most people know him by his other name: Dr. Seuss, Seuss being Theodor's middle name and his mother's maiden name. This Oxford graduate turned author and illustrator wrote 48 books that have sold over 200 million copies across the globe and have been translated in many different languages. Some of the most famous of these books include Green Eggs and Ham, The Cat in the Hat, The Lorax, and One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. As childish as these books seem some of them were intended for adults.

Puppy Problems

The weather is great for walking!  But if you do it with a furry friend, please clean up after it! Leaving your pet's "business" on the sidewalk is both unsightly and unsanitary. Please do your part in keeping our City clean and pick up after your pets.
