The Riddle of Hats
The Riddle of Hats
This Week in History
On January 21, 2009, Toyota officially passed General Motors as the world's largest car producing company. GM held this title for over 70 years, until 2009 when they announced that they had 8.36 million car sales while Toyota had 8.97 million car sales, the reign was over. Strangely, however, that very same year, Toyota reported their first-ever loss as a public company.
Dispatch Latest
The City of Kingsburg Police Department currently provides the City's in-house 911 dispatching for police related calls.  In an effort to continue to provide the best quality of service, staff has examined all levels of the Police Department's operations, including the option of contracting with Fresno County Sheriff's Office for dispatching services.

During their regular meeting on January 20, City Council heard from Kingsburg staff, Sheriff Margaret Mims, and residents.  Council took input, answered questions and provided clarification on a number of issues.  After nearly two hours of discussion, the Council tabled the item until the next regularly scheduled meeting on February 3 in an effort to gather more information on the subject.

A FAQ document regarding the process is also available for review.  For questions, comments or concerns, feel free to contact Police Chief Neil Dadian.
Shred Event

Go ahead - shred that!  The City, in conjunction with Pena's Disposal, will be holding a FREE secure document shredding and electronic waste disposal event for Kingsburg residents.
  • Saturday, January 30
  • 10am - 2pm
  • Kingsburg High School parking lot (off Sierra)

The event is first come first serve, as the trucks used to dispose of these items have maximum capacity.  While the items will be taken and destroyed quickly, it's possible that high volume times may necessitate some waiting - we appreciate your patience.

Be a HERO!
Thanks to a partnership with the City of Kingsburg, the HERO program has been made more accessible to all residents! HERO is a property assessed clean energy program.

The program offers energy efficient products and services that are financed through property taxes. They offer an array of products, from grey water systems, energy efficient appliances, small wind turbines, and everything in between.
Recycle Help
You want be environmentally friendly - but where do you take those hard to dispose of items?
