December 7, 1941, a date that will live in infamy, the naval base at Pearl Harbor was bombed by Japanese naval and air forces. More than 2,400 Americans lost their lives, both civilian and military personnel. With this attack President Roosevelt came to Congress giving one of the most memorable speeches in American history. Congress then had a near unanimous vote, with one voting against in the House of Representatives, to go to war. With this, the United States was forced into World War II.

The City of Kingsburg has been recogniz ed for its excellence in citizen communication by the Public Technology Institute ! This award is given to cities that have excelled in communicating with their citizens in a world of ever changing technology.
Kingsburg is one of nine cities in the country to receive this honor. Other cities include San Francisco, CA; Philadelphia, PA; and San Antonio, TX.
