Safe Driving in Fog

This Week in History
On November 5, 1994, George Foreman became the oldest heavyweight boxing champion at the age of 45. This championship fight was between him and 26 year old Michael Moorer and held at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. The fight lasted all the way to the 10th round, and as over 12,000 people watched this battle, George Foreman took the throne, and defended it finishing his career with 35 wins and 0 losses. After the fight he decided to dedicate this fight to "all my buddies in the nursing home and all the guys in jail."
Winter Water
City Council adopted new winter water conservation guidelines that officially began on November 1, 2015.  Highlights of the guidelines are as follows:
  • If the community as a whole reaches the 36% reduction mandate for the month, no fines will be issued to anyone.
  • If we are unable to meet the mandate, the highest 5% (approximately 162 accounts) of water users will face a fine of $75.
The program incentivizes all Kingsburg users to conserve water to avoid a potential fine, and also provides relief for those in larger households who may not have been able to feasibly stay below the previously adopted winter allotments.

The program does not replace any of the fines for illegal or overuse watering.  For questions on the new program, please contact Alex Henderson or view FAQs.

Fight the Flames
As the weather gets colder all residents can do their part to promote healthy air by fighting the urge to huddle around the fireplace.  Be sure to check Valleyair.org to make sure that you aren't burning on a "no-burn day" in order to avoid any fines.
