Water Saving Tips that Will Save You Money
This Week in History
On August 28, 1963, the largest demonstration in the history of the United States, the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, took place.  The March was intended to raise support for President Kennedy's proposed civil rights legislation. During the march, Dr. Martin Luther King delivered his famous "I Have a Dream" speech to over 250,000 civil rights supporters at the Lincoln Memorial. The speech was a defining moment in the Civil Rights Movement.

 See you there!

Mosquito Abatement
The Consolidated Mosquito Abatement  District has been serving the residents of Kingsburg since 1946.  The District was formed to provide relief from mosquito bites and to protect the public from the threat of mosquito-borne diseases, such as Malaria, and West-Nile Virus. Ways for you to help protect against mosquitoes include:
  • Reporting a mosquito problem
  • Reporting a green pool or other standing water source
  • Requesting mosquito fish for your pond
  • Reporting dead birds
To request services or check on when activity may be occurring in Kingsburg, visit the District's website.  While the District cannot inform all residents in advance of spraying insecticides, they do notify KPD of their operations in town.  Residents can contact the non-emergency number (897-2931) to verify the activity.

Harvest Festival

The Kingsburg District Chamber of Commerce invites you to the annual Harvest Moon Music Festival on the evening of September 26.

Come out to the Swedish Village for popular festival activities, food,  music, an
d more.  The evening begins at 4pm and runs until 11pm.

All Aboard

The Kingsburg Train Depot renovation is getting extremely close to completion. Work has been delayed due to back-ordered supplies and increased time for intricate, historically accurate carpentry work.  There are plans for a media room where you can watch movies and learn about the history of  the railroad!

Free Recycling
Did you know you can recycle old LEDs, florescent lights, and batteries at City Hall?  Stop in during business hours to recycle your items free of charge.

Prescription drugs can also be safely disposed of at KPD and sharps can be dropped off at Kmart Pharmacy.
