Quote of the Week
This Week in History

On July 2, 1964, U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson signs into law the historic Civil Rights Act in a nationally televised ceremony at the White House.  The most sweeping civil rights legislation passed by Congress since the post-Civil War Reconstruction era, the Civil Rights Act prohibited racial discrimination in employment and education and outlawed racial segregation in public places such as schools, buses, parks and swimming pools.

State Recognized
During their regular meeting on July 1, the City Council recognized three outstanding Kingsburg track and field athletes for their great accomplishments this past season.  All three members participated and finished in the top 3 of their respective events during the State meet in June.
  • Joey Souza (3rd in the Long Jump)
  • Seth Brooks (3rd in the Triple Jump)
  • Emmett Brooks (2nd in the Long Jump)

Congrats to all three on your great season!

37% Drop
We've entered a new month for water production reductions.  Just as in June, residential properties are limited to using up to 27,000 gallons before incurring a penalty.  Those using over that amount will subject to a $45.00 fine.  If you would like to find out how much water you used for June, please inquire at City Hall starting Wednesday, July 8th.

For June, Kingsburg residents again did a great job conserving.  Kingsburg used 101.9 million gallons in June, down from 161.8 MG in 2013 - a 37% drop!  Great job and keep up the great work!
