Quote of the Week
This Week in History

On June 11, then 34-year-old director Steven Spielberg reportedly drew on his own experiences as an unusually imaginative, often-lonely child of divorce for his science-fiction classic E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, which is released in 1982.  E.T. had stupendous success at the box office, eventually raking in some $435 million (it was re-released in 1985 and a special 20th-anniversary edition was issued in 2002). As of 2008, it stood at No. 5 on the list of the highest-earning films of all time.

Music to Our Ears
It's Band Season!  The Kingsburg City Band returns for their 129th season at 8pm on June 18 in Memorial Park. Musical Director Dale Engstrom has planned another great season of exciting music featuring many great soloists in addition to the stellar band.

Start making plans now to attend the concerts in cool, shady Memorial Park.  The Farmers Market will be held from 5:00pm until concert time so make an evening of it for the entire family.  Concert season runs each Thursday from June 18 through July 23.  Hope to see you there!

An Easy Read
Meter Read Video
Meter Read Video
We've gotten a number of questions on how to read your water meter.  We've put together a quick video to help guide you through the process.

There are a number of new guidelines to help establish a water conservation program to help meet our 36% State mandated reduction requirement.  As part of the need to meet the 36% reduction, Council has established a maximum usage  amount for all residential properties from June 2015 - February 2016.  For questions about the new regulations or the watering program, please contact Alex Henderson.
Great Work
During their June 3 regular meeting, the City Council recognized two Kingsburg employees for their contributions and effort while working for the City.

Jim Crofoot was honored for his work with the recent water meter installation project.  His ability to diffuse difficult situations and help citizens get a better understanding of their particular installation has been extraordinary.

Mary Colby was honored for her
consistent work ethic and willingness to help in every department. She makes a habit of always looking for ways to introduce new and improved methods to improve our overall efficiency.

Congrats to both on a job well done.

Don't debate - vaccinate!  The City will be holding their annual vaccination clinic on Saturday, June 20 at the Downtown Park.  The event runs from 9am - 12 noon and includes rabies vaccinations for cats and dogs, as well as the ability to microchip your pet.  You can also get your dogs licensed as well.
  • $5 rabies vacc. for dogs
  • $10 rabies vacc. for cats
