"Good character is not formed in a week or a month. It is created little by little, day by day. Protracted and patient effort is needed to develop good character."

On July 8, 1941, with his team trailing 5-4 with two outs in the ninth inning, Ted Williams hits a three-run home run to lead the American League to a 7-5 victory in the All-Star Game at Briggs Stadium in Detroit.
The summer of 1941 provided two of the biggest storylines in the history of baseball: In New York City, Joe DiMaggio was assembling a hitting streak that is considered by many to be unbreakable. In Boston, Ted Williams was on his way to hitting .400 for the season. He was the first player to do so since 1925, and the only player since.

Save the date for this year's National Night Out event - held at Memorial Park. Held this year on Tuesday, August 5th, residents are invited to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Come to the park to interact with your officers, giveaways for the kids, and to enter the raffle contest. The event begins at 6pm - hope to see you there.

By taking our brief consumer survey, the Economic Development Committee can help formulate future strategic plans to help attract specific business ventures. The survey only take a few moments - and your input is extremely important.
