City Council Meeting July 2, 2014 7:00 pm @ Council Chambers

On June 28, 1953, workers at a Chevrolet plant in Flint, Michigan, assemble the first Corvette, a two-seater sports car that would become an American icon. The first completed production car rolled off the assembly line two days later, one of just 300 Corvettes made that year. Its performance and appeal steadily improved after that and it went on to earn the nickname "America's sports car" and become ingrained in pop culture through multiple references in movies, television and music.

The annual Kingsburg Independence Day celebration is happening next week! Held on July 3 at Kingsburg High School, come out for an old fashioned patriotic festival.
Food and fun for all ages starts at 6pm. The fireworks begin after dusk. Tickets are available at the door the day of the event. See you all there!

Come out and join us as the City holds an official Ground Breaking (golden spike) ceremony on Friday, June 27 @9am.
All are welcome to come help celebrate several years of hard work to ensure the historic building is restored.
Kingsburg resident and contractor CJ Brock will be completing the repairs, which are being funded through a federal highway transportation grant, as well as with private donations.

By the end of this week, all residents should have received their new garbage, recycling, and green waste containers, while having their old containers removed. Some reminders:
- All containers are the same size (96 gallons) as the old containers (some are receiving larger recycling than they previously owned)
- Your pickup date and location remain the same
If for some reason you did not have some/all of your old containers picked up, please contact City Hall at 897-5821. We appreciate your patience as we work through this transition period. Beginning on Monday, June 30, Mid Valley Disposal will be picking up your collectables on your normal collection day. If you have additional questions, please feel free to email or call City Hall. |
Did you know the City has specific rules about property maintenance? For example, unkempt weeds can become a fire hazard and our fire department monitors for proper abatement.
In addition, it's illegal to store inoperable motor vehicles anywhere, and illegal to store any vehicle on a lawn. If you notice a property maintenance issue in your neighborhood - let us know. Help us keep Kingsburg looking good!

The City's summer band concert series and Farmers Market will be postponed next Thursday, July 3 due to the Independence Day Celebration. They both will be back up and running on July 10!
