During their May 7 meeting, the City Council awarded the bid for the repair of the historic Train Depot to HC Brock Co. The City received two bids during the last request round. The award is set to complete a majority of the remaining work on the Depot, restoring the entire outside, freight platform, and majority of the inside.
Construction is set to begin on June 2, and will last between 6-8 months. A partnership of public and private funding has helped spur the renovations - the majority coming from a federal highways grant. The Friends of the Depot continue to solicit donations to help maintain the operations of the Depot once complete.
