Quote of the Week
"Deciding what not to do is as important as deciding what to do."

-- Steve Jobs
This Week in History
Just after 6 p.m. on April 4, 1968, Martin Luther King Jr. is fatally shot while standing on the balcony outside his second-story room at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee.  The civil rights leader was in Memphis to support a sanitation workers' strike and was on his way to dinner when a bullet struck him in the jaw. King was pronounced dead after his arrival at a Memphis hospital. He was 39 years old.
Get Ready Now
The Spring Community Clean Up is happening later this month.  There are a number of days you can take advantage of the event, held at 1200 Kern Street. The event days run from April 28 - May 10, with times for each day as follows:
  • Monday - Friday; 7:00am - 4:00pm
  • Saturday (May 3 & 10); 7:00am - 2:30pm
  • Closed Sundays
Residents will have the chance to dispose of a number of items - making sure they are all properly disposed of.  While you're busy cleaning out for the Clean Up - set aside those items that can be donated and stop by Kcaps on your way.
Car Show Fun
Cruise night, spaghetti dinner, pancake breakfast, Cars - Cars - Cars.  These are all things that describe the 20th Annual Car Show.

This year's event is just two weeks away, being held on April 18 & 19.
With a raffle, downtown shopping, and plenty to see - head to downtown Kingsburg for another great year on the main streets of our Swedish Village.
