As all of us in the Valley knows - the Governor has declared a drought emergency, opening the doors for state and federal funding assistance. And while we finally received a rain break yesterday, there is still a lot you can do as a homeowner to conserve water.
The City has specific rules in terms of lawn watering, but residents can also go above and beyond to help conserve:
- Limit watering to one day a week in winter
- Set lawn timers to five minutes or less
- Consider xeroscape instead of grass
More information can be found by visiting the Department of Water Resources. |
As part of the City's effort to enhance overall recycling goals, we've partnered with Waste Management to help improve recycling efforts at commercial facilities around Kingsburg.
Residents have the chance to recycle even more - keeping waste out of the landfills. There are several items that we don't often think of that can be r ecycled:
- Yogurt lids;
- All plastics (#1-7)
- Pizza boxes
- Cereal boxes
These are just a few of the many items you can recycle. Residents can put all items in the same container. Interested in a larger recycling container? Contact City Hall at 897-5821 for more info. |
Please help inform residents and neighbors of the weekly Kingsburg Carrier! Let them know to sign up by forwarding this email so we can sign them up! You can also visit the City's website to signup today.
