Although overall crime fell 19% (Part 1) in 2013, compared with 2012, we have recently experienced theft of copper wire from City facilities. The wire, considered valuable for scrap metal, is removed through illegal means, causing thousands of dollars worth of damage.
If you notice any suspicious activity, especially by non-marked utility vehicles, please contact our Police Department. A quick check by our officers will ensure all work being performed is legitimate, and your services continue as expected.

As many of you are aware, the Kingsburg Train Depot continues to move forward with plans for rehabilitation. After initial bids came back at nearly double the allocated funding amount, City engineers are working to improve the scope of the project in preparation to rebid the project.
It's expected that the new bid package will be distributed by the end of January, with work beginning as early as May, 2014.
