Oklahoma Speaker's Ball in ENID! Sunday, February 28th

The Oklahoma Speaker's Ball will be held Sunday, February 28th, at Enid Event Center and Convention Hall. Hosting legislators and many other state officials in Enid for the Speaker's Ball is a tremendous opportunity to showcase our city. This is the first time the Speaker's Ball has been held outside the OKC metro area and we want to help ensure that it is a success.

Please support the event and consider participating as a sponsor. The proceeds from the 2016 Ball will benefit the Food for Kids Backpack Program at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, the Oklahoma State University Foundation scholarship fund and the Northwestern Oklahoma State University Foundation.

TANDRA JOHNSON:  Hometown, Garber,  OK
Family: Married to Gerald Johnson for 4 years, together for 9. We have two boys. Aiden is 6 and Alec is 3.
Occupation/Profession:
Accounting Outsourcing Associate at BKD, LLP. I prepare financial statements, payroll and other accounting functions for businesses. I also help in the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns.
Tell us four of your favorite things: Homemade chocolate chip cookies, spending time with my family and friends, summer time, and coffee.
What would you do with 30 minutes of free time? Take my boys on a bike ride.
What makes you unique? I have a very upbeat and positive attitude. I try to find the good in every situation and try to encourage others to do the same. I also strangely really enjoy math. People tend to find that very "unique."
Favorite thing about Enid? I love how the community comes together so very often for great causes. Everybody works so well together to make the community as a whole a better place. I come from a much smaller town, but as I've gotten to know others in Enid, I realize that it really does have small town vibe, which I love.

LINDA HOAG: Hometown,  Enid, OK
Family: Married to my husband Steven with 2 wonderful children and a grandson, Noah
Occupation/Profession:  Director of Human Resources - Responsible for Recruitment, Employee Relations, Orientation, Leadership Development, HR Information System, Policy Implementation, Employment Law, Loss Control-Workers' Comp, and Statistics.
Tell us four of your favorite things: Quick Cooking; Card Making; Travel to all areas of the United States; and NASCAR-(favorite driver is Dale Earnhardt,Jr.)
What would you do with 30 minutes of free time? This is a tough question. I might go for a quick walk, watch a segment of Tiny Houses on HGTV, spend time with my grandson, make a card, or visit with family and friends.
What makes you unique? I'll try almost anything that is legal once, except bungie jumping off a bridge or eat something that is not a normal food item (ie: worms, eyeballs, etc. YUK!). My staff have stated that I am a patient manager, listen to others suggestions and handle even the most uncomfortable situation with dignity and grace.
Favorite thing about Enid? A small community that offers a lot for you to do and the people.   I feel that the people are friendly and help others when they are in need.

LAURA HATCHEL: Hometown, Colorado Springs, CO
Family: I'm single with 2 children. I have a son named Hayden who is 8 and a daughter named Lauren who is 6.
Occupation/Profession:I am the Marketing Director for YWCA Enid. I take care of all public relations and community awareness as well as several of our events and fundraisers.
Tell us four of your favorite things: I love to travel and when I can prefer Hawaii and Mexico for the beach, California to visit friends and Colorado where most of my family lives. I enjoy trying new foods but my favorites are Sushi, Italian and almost anything from Panevino, especially a good steak. I wasn't born an OSU fan but my children were and we all bleed orange at my house. Go Pokes!
What would you do with 30 minutes of free time? I would love to say take a nap but in reality I know I would clean or organize something instead.
What makes you unique? I was raised an Army brat, born at West Point where my dad and grandfather both taught and have lived in New York, Hawaii, Alabama, Tennessee, California, Pennsylvania, Alaska, Kansas, Colorado, Texas and Oklahoma, in that order. I've lived in Enid for 14 years but the longest I lived anywhere before that was my 4 years in college in Colorado Springs.
Favorite thing about Enid? I love that Enid is such a generous community. I'm continually amazed by the individuals, businesses and organizations that donate their money and time to helping others and the causes they hold dear to their hearts.

TIFFANY HARVEY:  Hometown, San Antonio, TX
Family: Married to Brandon Harvey. We have three Children: Jersey age 12, James age 4, and Rayford age 1.We rescued Duke the dog from the shelter this year.
Occupation/Profession:  Commercial lines account manager at Messer Bowers Insurance Company. Specializing in oil and gas, and trucking businesses.
Tell us four of your favorite things:
Playing Volleyball - The best thing about Monday is 6PM when volleyball starts
Watching Football - "HOW BOUT THEM COWBOYS!"
Wine - anything red, Dancing and Singing in my living room - even though I have no moves and can't carry a tune.
What would you do with 30 minutes of free time? Watch a TV show, in silence, with a glass of red wine.
What makes you unique? I don't shy away from being involved in or starting new ventures. I have been a part of three inaugural volleyball programs. I was on the inaugural Enid Young Professionals board (formally known as the Greater Enid Young Professionals). I was on the inaugural board for CHROME - an annual poker run raising money to help downed bikers. I was one of three women who put together a DIY Fundraising event through the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Most recently, I joined the cast for the Gaslight Theatre production of The Sting and will mark my first time on stage. That's not to say being a part of something new or forging my own path isn't scary. I'm just not willing to let that fear stop me.
Favorite thing about Enid?  The endless opportunities and community support to try new things, to get involved, and to make a difference.

What would you do with 30 minutes of free time? As a momma of 4 I would LOVE to take a nap, but in all reality I would end up painting something or working on a home improvement project!
Favorite thing about Enid? I love how family friendly everything is. I'm excited to be "back home" in Enid with my kids to show them where I grew up and share stories and memories and make new ones with them too.

I am most passionate about working with individuals whose roles and quality of life has been affected by neurological illness or disease, but I am energized by every opportunity I have to help improve the quality of life and independence of my patients.
Tell us four of your favorite things: Born and raised in Nebraska, I am and will always be a Husker! When I have to choose in Oklahoma, I cheer for OSU. One of my favorite places to be is in Crested Butte, CO. I'm an avid advocate of their Adaptive Sports Center program. For leisure, I enjoy studying Neuro-IFRAH to improve my knowledge base and clinical skills as an OT, and reading books that challenge my faith in Jesus Christ to grow.
What would you do with 30 minutes of free time? I enjoy spending time outdoors and staying in touch with friends and family. My neighbors could tell you that I frequently walk the neighborhood while talking on the phone!
What makes you unique? My dad is an identical twin. I've grown up with only very close family and friends being able to confidently distinguish between my uncle and my dad - to this day!
Favorite thing about Enid?  I love seeing the community come together to support a great cause. The Enid Mud Volleyball tournament is a great example of this; it grows in participants every year!
