Thanks for Another Successful Lightin' Up!

The Downtown Kenosha, Inc. Promotion Committee would like to extend a sincere THANK YOU to the many Downtown businesses that participated in this year's Lightin' Up festival. From amazing light displays and engaging activities to holiday promotions and live entertainment, visitors were beyond delighted with Downtown on "Black Friday"! Without your effort and creativity, this memorable event would not be possible.

Congratulations to our 2014 Decorating Contest Winners:  1st Place - Kindred Kitties / 2nd Place - Ssmarty Cakes & Scoops Ice Cream / 3rd Place - Duck, Duck Goose Children's Resale Shop. 850 votes were cast this year, a slight increase over 2013 voting. Thanks to all our participating businesses for their creativeness and for promoting the contest on their social media pages. The lights and decorations will continue to draw visitors throughout the holidays!

Thank you to Francisco Loyola (Kenosha Art Associationand the Heim family and team (Scoops Ice Cream & Ssmarty Cakes) for hosting Santa Claus this year! Santa heard lots of Christmas wishes during Lightin' Up and we're pleased that he'll be back on Wednesdays and Saturdays through 12/20. Click here for a PDF flyer of Santa's hours to share with your customers

Thanks also to our hard-working Downtown Ambassadors who provided holiday cheer and Downtown info to Lightin' Up visitors... Maureen Cashin-Bolog, Maria Caravati, Dave Ramey, Ron Frederick, Amy Greil, Cindy Kirkpatrick, Dan Stika, Nikki Payne, Jennifer Dooley, John Hogan, and Ellen Kupfer.

We would also like to thank the City of Kenosha for their role in the City Tree Lighting ceremony, Santa's fire truck escort, and the decked-out Electric Streetcars. The partnership between DKI and the City has been instrumental in building the Lightin' Up event to what it is today. Thanks to Brad Preston (City Transit) for producing this great video of the streetcars and other Lightin' Up activity.

So as you can see, we owe the success of Lightin' Up to the collective effort of many dedicated people and organizations! Thanks again to everyone who played a part!

SnowDaze 2015: Ice Sculptures Selling Fast!

Just a few DKI-subsidized ice sculptures remain available for the 2015 SnowDaze Festival (February 14). If you'd like to take advantage of the discounted price to purchase a sculpture for your business, reserve one today! DKI will subsidize $100 of the cost for the FIRST 40 sculptures. As of Dec. 1, there are less than 10 available at this price. Standard single-block sculptures cost $250-$275 depending on the design (most are $250), so the net cost to the business will be $150-$175. Orders received after the first 40 will be billed at full price. The 40 subsidized sculptures are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and are limited to one per location at this price. Deadline for all orders is January 15
