|
The Kenosha Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (KACVB) has been awarded a $19,000 Wisconsin Dept. of Tourism JEM (Joint Effort Marketing) Grant to implement the first Downtown Kenosha Restaurant Week, which will run February 14 - 22, 2015. The KACVB will partner with Downtown Kenosha, Inc. to produce the event, which is aimed at increasing tourism, growing restaurant sales, and raising awareness among local residents of Downtown's unique dining options. Many of our restaurant and specialty food businesses have already committed to participating in this event and a separate email will go out soon to all restaurants with further details. The kick off date of Restaurant Week coincides with February's Second Saturday, Valentine's Day, and the annual winter festival which will again feature ice sculptures throughout Downtown (more details on ice sculptures to come). Downtown Kenosha's annual Lightin' Up & Christmas Tree Lighting event is scheduled for Friday, November 28th, the day after Thanksgiving. We'll be partnering with the City of Kenosha once again to kick off festivities with the official lighting of the City Christmas tree at the Kenosha Public Museum. Plans are underway by the Promotions Committee, and it's never too early to start planning your own specials and activities for this popular event! Last year's Business Decorating Contest was a huge hit with customers, who came out in droves to see the beautiful light displays our businesses created in their windows and storefronts. Watch your email for further communications on how to participate in Lightin' Up, including the decorating contest (advance sign up is required). Contact Deanna or Zohrab with any questions.
