SETX Self Advocates attend Annual Conference

In August, the SETX Self Advocate officers attended the annual Texas Advocates conference in San Marcos, TX. SETX Self Advocate officers attended classes that taught them how to speak to elected representatives, how to develop healthy relationships, and how to become an even better leader. "My favorite part about the conference was learning how to become a better leader and making new friends" said SETX Self Advocate Vice President Rebecca Alford. Attendees brought back the knowledge they gained at the conference and shared this information with their peers. The goal of SETX Self Advocates is to to help members learn to live as independently as possible and to advocate for their rights.
