Join the Arc's new "Grow and Play" Program
The Arc of Greater Beaumont continually strives to provide programs and services to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities of all ages. We are excited to

announce the expansion of our Children and Family Services track of programming.  The "Grow and Play" program is a program in conjunction with S.T.A.R.S. Pediatric Outpatient Clinic designed to provide a place for parents and children up to 10 years of age with special needs to interact while learning techniques to help growth through physical activity.  There will be two classes provided for Arc members.  For ages 0-3 a Mommy and Me class will be held the second Tuesday of every month from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.  For ages 3-10 a Grow and Play class will be held the third Sunday of every month from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The program is free of charge for all dues paying Arc members but you must sign up for each class as space is limited!  If you are interested in joining this program you MUST call (409)838-9012 and fill out a developmental questionnaire one week prior to your first class.  For details about the Grow and Play program, please call (409)838-9012 or email [email protected]

Pathways to Adulthood- Transition Planning
Texas Parent to Parent Network has an exciting new program available to Texas parents to help prepare for a child's transition from school into  adulthood.  The Pathways to Adulthood program offers parent networking groups, a listserv with topics related to transitions, a parent inventory checklist to guide parents through the transition process, and much more. This is a great resource for parents and children of any age to start planning for the future.  To find even more information on transitions visit the Arc's online resource library.
First Autism Support Meeting Sunday, February 9th

In September, The Arc of Greater Beaumont had an Autism Support Group interest meeting.  Thanks in part to the large turnout at this meeting, The Arc of Greater Beaumont has started an Autism Parent Support Group. The first meeting of the Autism Parent Support Group will be Sunday, February 9th at 4:00 pm. We will be hosting a parent panel and offering some time for parent networking.  If you have a child on the autism spectrum or are a professional or educator who works with children on the autism spectrum, we encourage you to become a part of The Arc's Autism Support Group.  For details, view the printable flyer, email [email protected], or call (409)838-9012.

Jay Bruce Golf Benefit Raises $40,000

The 2013 Jay Bruce Golf Benefit and Concert held Saturday, November 16 2013 raised $40,000 for The Arc of Greater Beaumont.  "We are so grateful for the support Jay has given us these past few years" says Arc Executive Director Gary R. Hidalgo.  "With this donation the Arc can not only continue to provide it's current programs and services but a large portion of the donation will be allocated to help the Arc build a home of our own." The Arc of Greater Beaumont has received a donation of just over 3 acres of land near Parkdale Mall. The Arc has launched a capitol campaign to raise 1 Million dollars to build a building on this lot. If you would like to donate to the Arc's building fund click here.
