April 28, 2013 - Compassion Sunday
The Messages:Pastor Ruth spoke about the type of kindness that can make a difference. One of our self-imposed barriers to kindness is being judgmental. Ruth pointed out that being 'judgmental' differs significantly from making judgements, which is a daily activity. Her sermon is here: "The Kind of Kindness that Changes Things."Penny, on the other hand, has been known at times to be judgmental and wouldn't you know it, she demonstrated that characteristic beautifully during her time with the children. Pastor Ruth attempted to modify Penny's attitude.
Sunday's Music:
Bob Domine and his daughter, Juliet, performed a beautiful piano/violin duet as the Prelude. It was purchased by Juliet as a birthday present for her dad. Bob, Juliet - thanks for sharing it with us.
- Prelude: "A Lover's Waltz" - Bob & Juliet Domine
- The Senior Choir, directed by Beryl Samia: "Days of Elijah"
- Postlude: "Theme from 'Athalie'"
