April 21, 2013 - Earth Sunday
The Messages:The preceding horrific week saw the Marathon bombings and the West Texas fertilizer plant explosion - both, taking innocent lives and consuming our attention. Earth Sunday offered a respite from that emotional turmoil and Ruth's sermon, "Like a Tree," provided the perfect shelter from those devastating events. Penny's time with the children focused on how, like a tree, we can weather storms if we have deep roots based on family and God. It was a lesson for all ages.
Sunday's Music:
Beryl and our Senior Choir, in their musical offerings, continued the theme of God's gracious gift of shelter to all of us.
- Prelude: "For the Beauty of the Earth" (arr. Thallander)
- The Senior Choir, directed by Beryl Samia: "All Rise"
- Postlude: "The Lord is My Light"

Support Bob Picone as he and others join in the MS Walk. MS stops people from moving. This organization exists to make sure it doesn't. The Walk starts at Consolidated School this Saturday and is a total distance of 5 miles. Walkers can register at 9 a.m. ($25 - a change from the $20 printed in the bulletin) with the Walk starting at 10 a.m. You can also contribute to the Walk by using the signup sheet in the entryway.

"Feeling Divine" - Hosted by Norene Freeman
Next Sunday, following the service, "Feeling Divine" will be shown in the Parlor. Norene has worked for more than a year to assemble a production crew, record the program and get it 'on the air.' It features an interview with a good friend of this church, Pastor Mair Honan of Grace Street Ministries in Portland. But that's not all - there's wonderful music by local talent along with visual and inspiring reflections. Come join us in the Parlor of Peace at 11:30 a.m.
