51ST SPRING FESTIVAL IS  IN THE BOOKS...RED TEAM WINS!

Today was a fabulous day.  Our students had a great time playing (and competing) and our faculty, staff and alumni had a great time joining in on the fun with the dunking booth, tug-of-war and Maypole! Special thanks to Kate Chastain, Leana Ott, Mrs. Sandy and all of our other volunteers for their efforts to organize the day.  Thanks also to the parents who join us and cheer on their favorite Wildcats.

UNPAID BALANCES: As we come to the end of the 2015-2016 school year, please check with the Business Office in regards to any unpaid balances you may have, such as student accounts, athletic fees (Spirit Pack), trip fees, MMI dining account, etc.  Final grades will be released after all balances have been cleared.  Registration for the 2016-2017 school year will be complete once all remaining balances are paid.

SMART TUITION:Within the next few weeks, each family should be receiving an email from Smart Tuition  (customerservice@smarttuitionmessages.com) regarding enrollment with their program for student accounts/billing next year.  Once you receive this email, we suggest that you add Smart Tuition to your safe contacts in order to prevent future emails from going directly to your spam file.


LOWER SCHOOL- SHOWCASE OF THE RISING STARS
 
Showcase of the Rising Stars for students in grades 1-5 will be held May 26th.  This is a great opportunity for students to step on stage and share their talents!  For more information, or to register as a performer, download the forms here.

ON CAMPUS USED TEXTBOOK BUY BACK
Campus Bookstore will have a representative buying your used books on our University Campus on the following 3 dates:

May 17th 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm   Senior Used Book Buy Back (Library)
May 23rd 7:30 am - 9:30 am Middle School Used Book Buy Back (Band Room)
May 26th 9:30 am - 11:30 am Upper School Used Book Buy Back (Band Room)

Dates have been scheduled based upon final exams for each grade level. You may also bring books on any scheduled date following your grade level buy back or stop by their store (located just across from the USA Campus)  at your convenience to sell or buy your books.

MOTHER OAK ANNUAL FUND

WILDCATS ON HORSEBACK GETTING COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS  
Congratulations to junior Carly Salter who had an outstanding performance at the National  Reining Horse Association Breeder's Classic a few weeks ago. Besides the World
Championship held in the fall, it is the biggest reining horse show in the country.
She competed in the Limited Non Pro division on her horse, Gotta Be A Gunner, and finished first in Level 1, second in Level 2 and third in Level 3. She won over $8000.00 in addition to a new $5,000 saddle!  More importantly, she is now being recruited by Auburn, South Carolina, Duke, Georgia, SMU, Baylor and Oklahoma State to ride on their NCAA division one equestrian teams!!!  Watch a video of her amazing skills (and Gotta Be A Gunner's too)!

Carly is not the first Wildcat to wow Division I colleges with her riding skills. Senior Lindsey Templin will be joining the Auburn University Equestrian team in the fall!


ALUMNI IS SPRING HILL COLLEGE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
Congratulations to Wesley Hunter '13  who was named Athlete of the Year at Spring Hill College. Wesley, a member of the first St. Luke's State Championship Golf Team, shot 25 rounds in 10 events during the 2015-2016 season with 14 rounds being at or below par. He won three tournaments with six top five finishes. In head-to-head competition, he held a 528-71 (.881) record and finished the year with a 72.48 stroke average and a +1 average relative to par. His season's personal best came at the Faulkner State Invitational on February 13-14 where he shot a 5-under-par score of 67!
SUMMER ATHLETIC CAMPS...SPREAD THE WORD
Our awesome varsity coaches will be sponsoring several athletic camps over the summer.  These camps are open to the public and provide a great opportunity for the kids to develop their skills while having fun with their friends!  Spread the word!!

CONGRESSMAN BRADLEY BYRNE VISITS
On Thursday, Congressman Bradley Byrne met with our Middle and Upper School students and faculty to speak about his responsibilities, our district and the goings on n Washington, DC. He touched on several key topics in politics right now and our students asked some fabulous questions! He is pictured with Mr. Notaro and seniors Maddie Wright, Blakely Moore, Martha Ellen Phillips, Dylan Jordan and Spencer Arnold.

 

 

CAMP WILDCAT
Don't forget to get your kids and their friends registered for  "CAMP WILDCAT"!  Camp Wildcat is for children grades Pre-Kindergarten through rising sixth grade and promises to provide a great summer experience for kids and parent alike!

7th ANNUAL BOOSTER CLUB GOLF TOURNAMENT

ST. LUKE'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
St. Luke's Episcopal Church will be holding Vacation Bible School for children in grades K5-5th grade  on June 13th-17th from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon.  This year's theme is "Surf Shack: Catch the Wave of God's Amazing Love" .If you are interested in this wonderful ministry, please contact the church office at church@stlukesmobile.org or 666-2990. 6th through 12th graders may sign-up as volunteers. It is a perfect way to get service hours for school!
 

ATHLETICS
TRACK TEAM COMPETING AT STATE MEET
The Track Team is competing at the State Track Meet this weekend...check for  a schoolcast with the results as soon as we get them!

BOYS GOLF TO COMPETE IN STATE TOURNAMENT

The Boys Golf Team will be traveling to Huntsville to compete in the State Tournament on Monday and Tuesday.  They are hoping to bring back the THIRD state championship for our Wildcat golf teams. You can keep up with the scores on AHSAA.com!

GIRLS GOLF
Congratulations to our Girls Golf Team for qualifying for Sub-State in Montgomery for
the second year in a row.  Emmy Musial paced the Wildcats with an 89,  finishing 4th in individual competition, and 2 shots short of the State tournament. This year's team finished with an 11-14 regular season record.  Emmy Musial shot school records for both 9 hole (41) and 18 hole (89) events.  This year's team will lose Senior Olivia Pickett,  and return Musial, Caitlin Smith, Bailey Fisher, and Brooke Threlkeld.

MS and US  BOYS BASKETBALL
Rising 7th and 8th grade boys interested in participating in basketball next year must attend practices on May 16th and 17th from 3:30pm - 5:00pm.
Rising 9th-12th grade boys interested in participating next year will practice
May 9th - May 13th  from 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm
 


MALE ATHLETES-PHYSICALS PROVIDED ON CAMPUS
Any student planning to participate in AHSAA athletics in 2016-2017 must complete and return all eligibility paperwork.The paperwork must be completed every year and includes the physical examination form, concussion from, Participant-agreement-consent-
and release, STAR sportsmanship instruction form, Individual Data form & Parent Permission for Athletic participation. These documents can be found on the school website (go there now).
As a service to our male athletes (rising grades 7-12), physical examinations will be provided, on campus, May 12th at 2:30 pm in the weight room.  All other eligibility paperwork should be filled out and turned in to Student Services prior to this date. Please complete that portion of the physical examination form required of parents.
