What are Re-Enrollment Days?
Re-enrollment Days are specific days set aside for current families to return signed enrollment contracts for the 2016-2017 academic year.  Families who participate in Re-enrollment Days ensure they will not be charged a $500 late enrollment fee.


We are very excited to partner with Smart Tuition for the 2016-2017 school year. We will be providing them with the information necessary to register each family.  They will initiate contact with each family at a later date.  


THE CHECKLIST...follow this checklist and the entire re-enrollment process should take only 5 or 10 minutes!!!  
  • Print one contract per child  
  • Sign and initial all applicable spaces on the contract (please note that the contract requires the signature of BOTH parents and/or all legal guardians as well as the signature of the person financially responsible for all tuition payments). 
  • Bring contracts and payment for registration and deposit. (see Fee Schedule below).  Credit card transactions will incure a 3% processing fee.There is a $110 non-refundable Registration fee for each student.  The Deposit  is $300 for the first child and $100 for each additional child. All Deposit monies are credited to the first 2016-2017 tuition bill (June).  Please contact the Business Office if you have any questions.

JAPONICA CAMPUS GRANDPARENTS DAY
Our annual Japonica Campus Grandparents Day gets bigger and better every year. This year, we will celebrate on Friday, February 5th from 8:15 am until 11:00 am.  The day includes a special Grandparents Reception, musical presentations, classroom visits and our annual Krewe of Kindergarteners Mardi Gras parade. We have mailed a personal invitation to all of those names that were submitted to us.  We are looking forward to a fantastic day!
 
2016 CASH BASH 
This year's draw down and party will be held on Saturday, March 5th.
Our Cash Bash Chairmen are  working diligently to make this year's event one to remember! There are some exciting changes this year, including a new venue!  Join us at Heron Lakes Country Club for a great night that includes fantastic auction items, great food, drinks, music, entertainment and of course....CASH and TUITION prizes!  More information will be coming home soon...make sure you SAVE THE DATE!

WHOO reached 100% parent participation first? Mrs. Speir's 4th grade class, that's WHOO!
Thank you to all the parents in that class who are helping us reach our $125,000 Mother Oak Annual Fund goal this year. 
 

 

 

BIOMED - OPPORTUNITIES YOU WON'T FIND ANYWHERE ELSE!
It was really exciting when one of our BioMed students actually removed a wisdom tooth from a patient during her job shadow with an Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon. Then came the incredible story of our student who actually assisted with the delivery of a baby during her job shadow.  But this may take the cake.....Olivia Pickett, a current BioMed III student wants to become a Life Flight nurse.  Her job shadow has provided her the opportunities to tag along on Life Flight calls TWICE. 

 

FEC MIDDLE SCHOOL DANCE
The Middle School Dance, sponsored by FEC,  will be held Friday, February 5th from 3:30 until 5:30 in the Dining Hall.  Tickets are $5 each and include music, snacks and drinks.  Tickets will go on sale next week. The theme for this year's dance is

KEY CLUB CANDYGRAMS
The Key Club will be selling Candy Grams for $2.00 each on the University Campus from Monday, January 25th- Friday, January 29th. They will be distributed to middle and upper school students/teachers on Friday, February 5th.

Please complete and return an order form and payment if you would like to have one delivered to your favorite MS or US  student or teacher! .  The options are:
  • I'm hooked on you! (sour gummy worms)
  • You are out of this world! (milky way)
  • Don't be a Dum Dum, be my valentine! (sucker bouquet)

 

 

BOOSTER CLUB BOSTON BUTT SALE 

It's BACK!  The Booster Club is accepting  pre-orders for their fabulous Boston butts!  The butts will be ready for pick-up after school on Friday, February 5th...perfect for a Super Bowl Party or a no hassle meal just before or after the parades!  The order deadline is Friday, January 29th.  All proceeds benefit the SLES Booster Club (which means they benefit you). What a great way to give and get!


 

 

SOCKS FOR SENIORS
The Spanish Club and Spanish classes are collecting socks for residents at local assisted living/nursing homes.  Any new adult socks may be donated and are appreciated!

LOWER SCHOOL COMPETES IN FIRST LIGHT MARATHON
Congratulations to the SLES girls and boys relay teams who recently competed in the First Light Marathon. The boys placed 3rd in the grade school division. Coaches Clay Smith and Steven Waite did another fabulous job with this group.

GEOGRAPHY BEE WINNER

Congratulations to all of our students who competed in this years SLES Geography Bee!  Connor Ferguson was the winner and will move on to represent St. Luke's in further competition.  Garrett Upshaw finished in second place and Brice Knotts finished in third.  Other contestants were Stone Smith, Jarnae Harris, Matthew Knotts, Kate Eden, Olivia Watts, Sutton Frezell, Makenna Rowland and Becca Clark.

BASKETBALL

SENIOR NIGHT:  Tuesday, January 26th is Senior Night for our boys and girls varsity basketball teams.  The girls game will tip-off at 5:00 and the boys game will tip-off at 6:30.  Please join us between the games as we honor our seniors and their parents.

 

 

YDL TRACK REGISTRATION NOW OPEN
Registration is now open for any 3rd-6th grade student interested in participating in track.  Register  online at www.YDLsports.net. Practices will begin at the end of the month and will be held on the University Campus track.
