CHRISTMAS UNDER THE OAKS
Join us on the Japonica Campus for Christmas Under the Oaks on Wednesday, December 2nd from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.  It will be a great night for all of our SLES families.  The food trucks will be on location, we'll have hot dogs, popcorn, cookies and cocoa, pictures with Santa, carolers, a special performance by our Upper School Chorus, as well as the official "Lighting of the Oaks" to kick off the Christmas season at SLES.

FINE ARTS DEPARTMENT CHRISTMAS PRESENTATIONS
The St. Luke's Band, Choral and Drama Departments have a full schedule of performances during the holiday season.  Please make plans to join us for any or all that interest you. We'll be glad to get you into the holiday spirit!

MOTHER OAK ANNUAL FUND
Thank you to everyone who has already returned their pledge or contribution for the 2015 Mother Oak Annual Fund!  Every donation gets us closer to our goal and makes a difference for our students! Donations received prior to January 1st are tax deductible for the 2015 tax year!

MAKING SPIRITS BRIGHT FOR CHILDREN
SLES is sponsoring a collection of toys and other items for abused children who are getting assistance from the CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER.

During this holiday season, we are hoping to brighten the holidays for children who are  the victims of sexual and physical abuse.  We have "adopted" the Child Advocacy Center and are collecting items for the children they assist so that they can have a happy holiday!   They have requested toys for ages 2-18, gift cards to Wal-mart and Target for clothing, gifts for teenagers, bikes and sporting goods. All donations should be new and unwrapped and may be dropped off at either St. Luke's Campus (the front offices or Student Services) between now and December 9th.
On December 1st, the St. Luke's JV Boys, varsity girls and varsity boys basketball teams will play Cottage HilL Christian at home.  (JV Boys at 4:30 pm, varsity girls at 6:00pm, and varsity boys at 7:30 pm)   We will waive the game admission fee for anyone that brings a new toy or gift valued at $5 or more for the Child Advocacy Center.  Collection boxes will be at the admissions table in the gym. Thank you for making a difference!
If you have any questions please contact Jeanne Hammons via e-mail at

EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT and ROBOTICS
Junior Zach McCleery is working on his Eagle Scout project and he has the SLES community and the greater Mobile community supporting it and talking about it! Zach is using 3D print technology to create and build 24 prosthetic hands for recipients around the globe! Tomorrow, Zach is hosting an "assembly" event and has volunteers including students from the SLES BioMed program and Engineering class as well as his SLES Robotics teammates, other students and adults.  If you want to see a truly life-changing project in action, come by tomorrow and check it out.  The event will be held in the University Campus Library between 9 am and 2 pm.
You can also check out the WKSJ radio spot recorded to support the project or like Zach's facebook page: Zach McCleery's Eagle Scout Project.
