June 2016 Reinvestment Report Statistics
Oklahoma Main Street Program (OKMSP) requires all its Main Street cities to submit Monthly Reinvestment Reports in order to maintain their status. If Main Street Bartlesville (MSB) misses 3 reports, it will lose access to the free services provided by OKMSP, including architectural and business development services, training, and much more.
The purpose of the reinvestment report is to show the investment being made in downtown, both private and public. The information collected includes renovations and new construction, properties sold, businesses coming into and those leaving downtown, new jobs and jobs lost. Volunteer hours are also included in this report. All information provided to Main Street Bartlesville for the report is kept confidential.
For June 2016, $30,000 in renovations was invested. A total of 321 hours were put in by Main Street volunteers.
For May 2016, $10,000 in renovations was invested and two buildings were purchased for $200,000, with 4 new businesses opening. A total of 220 hours were put in by Main Street volunteers.
Cumulative numbers since Main Street Bartlesville's inception in October 2010: $14,199,066 private investment (renovations, new construction, properties purchased);
273 jobs added and 68 businesses opened (net); $672,500 public investment; and 21,485 hours put in by Main Street volunteers.

Sugarica:
New Location, Same Great Desserts

Sugarica dessert bakery has moved and is open for business at 324 Johnstone Ave! They've doubled their space, but this week's Walk-In Wednesday still had lines out the door - not surprising with almost 250 customers! Owner Dorothy Colaw says they are already setting new sales records -- sounds like downtown employees can't resist the new location.

New additions to the menu include a variety of tarts, and Italian cannoli inspired by east-coast bakeries. Dorothy's favorite? Coconut cake. Hours remain the same for order reservations: Monday thru Friday, with Walk-In Wednesdays from 10am-3pm.

Be on the lookout for changes in 2017! Nothing official yet -- but Walk-In Wednesdays could see extended hours for the after-school crowd, and you might even be able to get your Walk-In fix on more than one day of the week. Birthday parties and possibly even baking classes are also on the drawing board to take advantage of all the new space. Check out their Facebook page or Sugarica.com for all the latest news!
