News & Information for Greenwood Elementary

FROM THE DESK OF DR. G
Big Dreams
Our 4th grade student podcasters were at it again! This week we are featuring a cross-state collaborative podcast that showcases the "Big Dreams" of students in 10+ states.  Our very own Greenwood students kick off the video.  Hats off to the students that helped create the podcast.  We'd also like to invite you and your family to share one "Big Dream" with us using the hashtag #StuConnect on Twitter.  We are using the hashtag to connect classrooms from around the globe, and last year we had the chance to interact with a school in Italy as part of a #StuConnect project.  We can't wait to hear YOUR child's big dreams!

Culinary Express Announces School Lunch Superhero Naming Vote
Two new fruit and vegetable characters will be joining the Culinary Express team of School Lunch Superheroes. A pea pod and a pineapple will be female characters that are added to the group.

Culinary Express will be conducting a vote on January 13 at Greenwood Elementary School.  This will be a one-time event where the students who eat lunch with Culinary Express on that day will be able to help choose the names of the new characters.   Culinary Express staff will poll the students while they are in the lunch line.

The pea pod and pineapple will join Mel the Watermelon, Broc the Broccoli, Big Red the Red Bell Pepper, and Barry the Strawberry as superheroes who encourage students to choose fruits and vegetables as part of a complete lunch.
See Mel & Brock's adventures HERE.
