ANNOUNCEMENTS
News & Information for Greenwood Elementary

1/9/14
From the Desk of Mr. G
"Grab and Go" Breakfast Program is here!

Who:  This program is open for all students. The cost for students is $1.35. Breakfast is free to any student on free/reduced lunch pricing. Parents are encouraged to have conversations with their children about whether they should or shouldn't be eating the "Grab & Go" breakfast.

What:  A Greenwood Breakfast Menu is listed online under the Culinary Express tab. Similar to lunch, students are asked to enter their lunch PIN codes to purchase their breakfasts.  Please note the products offered do not contain peanuts and the same menu protocols as with the lunch program are followed.   To view ingredients used for both lunch and breakfast, click here.

Where: Students pick up food in the cafeteria and consume it in the classroom. Guidelines for consuming snacks in the classroom will be adhered to for eating breakfast in the classroom as well.

When:  The hours of the Grab and Go program are 7:25-7:45.

Why:  We have seen an increased need for students who are not eating breakfast prior to arriving at school and research has demonstrated that when kids do not get breakfast it can directly impact their learning and behavior at school.

Kind regards,
Mr. Gustafson, Principal
