From the Desk of Mr. G

Thank You!

I attended the PTA meeting Tuesday evening and was again reminded of the amazing support and inspiring talents of our school community.  The time and work our parents, volunteers, PTA chairpersons, and staff dedicate to make a difference for kids is unparalleled.  I also was reminded of an easy way for parents to contribute to our school and hope you'll check it out...

Target "Take Charge of Education"

Target donates 1% of REDcard purchases to Greenwood if families designate our school!   (Approximately 150 REDcard holders have already designated Greenwood as their school.)

If you have a REDcard, simply go to Target.com and follow the links below:

MCA Testing Dates

Greenwood's 3rd through 5th grade students will take the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA) test following Spring Break this year.  Reading tests will be on April 16 and 17.  Math tests will be taken online beginning with 3rd grade the week of April 22, followed by 4th and 5th grade the week of April 29.  For 5th grade only, the Science test will be held on May 14 and 15.  The attached testing schedule is subject to change, but the state has firm "testing windows" that our school and district must adhere to.

We appreciate everything you do to support student learning. Please remember that good attendance, punctuality, a balanced diet and adequate sleep are important all school year; and remain important as 3rd through 5th grade students put forth their best efforts on the state reading and math assessments.

Kind regards,

Mr. Brad Gustafson, Principal
