Request for Qualifications Announcement

The Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde Community of Oregon, on behalf of the Portland Harbor Natural Resource Trustee Council, is seeking qualified land trusts, conservation groups, and other eligible entities interested in holding conservation easements on Portland Harbor habitat restoration projects.  Submissions are due by June 1, 2015.  For more information, view the Request for Qualification (RFQ) here.

Monitoring at Rinearson Natural Area Verifies Diverse Wildlife Use the Site

Prior to constructing a habitat restoration project for Portland Harbor, the Trustee Council requires that project developers monitor the site to understand how the habitat currently functions and is used by fish and wildlife.  At the Rinearson Natural Area last summer, Cascade Environmental Group set up remote cameras to help detect whether or not mink were using the site already.  They succeeded in documenting mink presence, as well as beaver, coyote, great blue heron, turkey vultures, raccoons, and a variety of waterfowl. Restoration at the site is scheduled to commence this summer. Monitoring will continue after the site has been restored.
