Upcoming 83 Alumni Events
Greetings!

Lots of great stuff below.  Please send me any news for future newsletters that have to do with 30 or more classmates.

The push for this one is to pre-register for 30th reunion. Which company will be the "Color Company" of the 30th reunion.  (Have the highest percentage of attendance)

Admiral Rixbey

Bravo Zulu!  The first in our class to be "Nominated" (pending Senate approval) is from 36th Company, Admiral Joe Rixey.  I was able to reach him for an impromptu interview before he hopped a flight to Guam.

CM:  "What do you credit your success, besides being from the greatest Naval Academy Class the world has ever seen?
JR:  My wife Kathy, 2 daughters, 2 sons, (Sons class of '12 and '14), friends, patient mentors and a lot of good luck.

Joe, a P-3 pilot, came up through the acquisition pipeline and assuming he gets approved by Senate, will be assigned as Director Defense Security Cooperation Agency (primarily supports Foreign Military Sales), Arlington, VA

He is ordering all active duty to report to Annapolis MD, on our about November 14th, 2013...For the civilian types, he hopes to see a huge turn out so we can set an attendance record. The drinks are on him (I added that).

Budget is forthcoming. We are trying to keep costs down, while still having a quality and fun weekend. Prices will be established in about 30 to 60 days.  We will have a go-live in early May.

We did not get a hotel. It is interesting to see the rates people are getting... If you block rooms, the rates are much higher. Last reunion we did not fill our quota and almost got hit with thousands of dollars in penalties. It took some tap dancing, but we did not pay.

We need volunteers to help with check-in on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. We may be organizing a golf outing (informal) on Thursday.
Volunteers Sign up at USNA83.com  (under sign up for newsletter)

Additionally, we will have a new class charter out in March for a vote. It will provide organization to our current chaotic situation. Structured elections of class officers...

Another first for 1983.  Competition to award the company with the most participation by percentage of company mates that show up.  83 is going for the record overall for the highest percentage of attendance of any class in USNA history.    Never been tracked before, Alumni Association is running the numbers now so we will know which class and percentage we need to be.

Important:
Company Reps will be required to call everyone in their company to get a commitment to show up.    I will pass on the class data which has email addresses and phone numbers.

If you are a company rep please email:

A pre-registraion page - (No Money Required) is only to get online commitments that you intend to go.
