The deadline to file for the March 2015 City Council election passed without any candidates filing to run against incumbent council members Dr. Julian Gold and Mayor Lili Bosse. Because Bosse and Gold are the only candidates running for two seats, the election has been cancelled saving the City an estimated $250,000.

The five members of the Beverly Hills City Council rotate turns serving as Mayor for one-year terms. In late March, Councilmember Gold will be sworn in as Mayor. In 2017, the seats currently held by council members John Mirisch, Dr. Willie Brien and Nancy Krasne will be up for election.
