Artist Biography

I consider myself a painter of life.  I paint experiences, people, places and beliefs.  Although i spend many, many hours at my easel, I also spend many hours with people and exploring scenes and ideas.  These are the experiences I bring to the canvas.

I grew up surrounded by paints and canvas.  My other Deloris Boyle is a retired portrait artist and was my primary teacher and mentor.  Although I earned a college degree in mathematics and pursed several other business ventures, I ended up finding my way back to the easel.  I have spent the last 25 immersed in art and painting.

Portraiture was the beginning of my art career.  I have been blessed with the opportunity to paint hundreds of portraits.  With that opportunity has come the added bonus of getting to know hundreds of people I may have never met otherwise.  I have painted many, many children along with judges, priests, doctors, lawyers and beautiful women.

After moving to the coast of South Carolina, I became enthralled with the marshes, oak trees draped with Spanish moss, oceans and inlets, and all that is the Lowcountry.  Thus began my journey into landscape painting.  I have employed some of my portrait techniques as I have captured herons, sandpipers, fish and egrets on canvas.

My most recent venture is into prophetic painting.  I base a painting on a scripture or spiritual concept, and prayerfully arrive at a vision for expressing an element of my faith;.  It has been exciting to watch God work in and thorough these paintings in my life and in the lives of those who see them.

I am grateful to God for the gift of art and for the opportunity to express myself through painting.  It is a fabulous life of vocation.  Praise and glory to the Creator Artist and to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  I am blessed.
