Inclusion -
The Key to Sustainable Success

Since diversity is such a (dare we say it) diverse and far-ranging topic, we've chosen to focus on it for a second month! Starting with a fresh approach to understanding how people can work through diversity-related conflict more effectively, we move on into the broader scope of how the inclusion of diverse perspectives can enhance problem-solving, innovation -- and our capacity for success.

It's Okay to Not Know What to Do

When people hear someone say something insensitive or intolerant, they often find themselves at a loss as to what to do. This article explores the reality that not knowing what to do is normal, and offers suggestions for managing how you feel and creating resolution without escalating tension.

Recommended Training Resource: Our new release, Gateways to Inclusion, shows how diversity-related tension can become a "gateway moment" with the potential of bringing about greater understanding, improved communication, and closer relationships.

But I Don't Really Believe That!

Have you ever been tripped up by an intolerant or closed-minded thought you didn't know you had - a belief that might not even represent how you truly feel? This piece provides (in non-technical terms) a few scientific reasons for how and why this happens, along with tips for preventing it.

Recommended Training Resource: Inclusion Insights combines cognitive science, storytelling, and plenty of humor from Dr. Steve Robbins. Viewers gain key insights into how to overcome those things (nature and nurture) that cause us to resist new people and ideas.
Your Ticket Out of the Comfort Zone

The comfort zone. It's a nice place to be. The words conjure up images of warm puffy blankets, good food, and friendly faces. Unfortunately, our most vibrant moments of personal growth happen when we push ourselves out of our comfort zone. The same is true for organizations! This article shows why embracing new ideas is key to organizational growth.

Recommended Training Resource: Wealth, Innovation, and Diversity - Putting our Differences to Work in the 21st Century. Using examples from biodiversity research as well as corporate case studies, renowned futurist and leadership consultant Joel Barker explores how diversity within the team generates new ideas and creates success in our global era.
