the online Google Map to Scouting
beascoutbutton  BeAScout, the online Google Maps application to help parents find Scout units for their children in any zip code WORKS!  35 families discovered units through BeAScout in Wisconsin River District.   This is a very powerful tool; but, it needs unit leaders to populate their "pin" with unit contact information. A step-by-step guide for unit leaders can be found on the council membership page (link:  http://glaciersedge.org/2010/08/beascout/). Check out this powerful tool at https://beascout.scouting.org/

BSA Adopt-a-School
build strong, sustaining relationships with schools
BSA-Adopt-a-School
"Do a good turn daily" is the Boy Scout slogan. Sometimes we forget to help the people we see all the time. There are lots of projects in schools that can use a group of helpers: ushers for special events, ticket takers, refreshment stands, tree planting, flag honor guards, and  decorating are just some examples. Talk with your school officials and see what special projects they need help with. Establish a partnership with your local school by reaching out and asking to "Adopt" it.
