Important Health Insurance Deadlines

  

As you may know, you are required to provide written notice to all employees as part of the Affordable Care Act, regardless of benefit enrollment status or full- or part-time status, about the federal and state Health Insurance Marketplaces by October 1, 2013.  After October 1, 2013, you will be required to provide notice to new employees with 14 days of their hire date.  If you have not yet distributed these notices, you can find the items below at http://www.dol.gov/ebsa/healthreform/:

 

  1. Model Notice for Employers from DOL - You will need to fill this out and subsequently distribute the notice to each employee.  If you do not offer health insurance, there is a separate notice listed - Model Notice to employers who do not offer a health plan.
  2. The Questions and Answers About Health Care Reform should also be distributed.  You  just need to insert company information.
